๐ How to Play Dehla Pakad
Also known as "10 Pakad" โ a classic Indian trick-taking card game.
๐ฏ Objective
The deck contains four 10-value cards ("Dehlas") โ the 10 of Spades, Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs. Your goal is to capture as many of these Dehlas as possible by winning the tricks that contain them. Whoever (or whichever team) captures more Dehlas by the time all cards are played wins the round.
๐ The Deal
A standard 52-card deck is used (no Jokers). The dealer shuffles and deals all cards out equally โ 26 cards each in 2-player mode, or 13 cards each in 4-player team mode (seats across the table are partners).
โถ๏ธ Playing a Trick
The player left of the dealer leads any card. Going clockwise, every other player must follow the same suit if they hold one. If you have none of the led suit, you may play any card โ including a trump card, if trumps are enabled for the room.
The trick is won by the highest card of the led suit โ unless someone played a trump, in which case the highest trump wins. The winner leads the next trick, and any 10s in that trick are added to their (or their team's) Dehla count.
๐ Winning
Once every card has been played, whoever holds more of the four Dehlas wins the round. If it's tied 2โ2, the side that won more tricks overall takes it; a true tie is a draw. Start a rematch any time from the room to play again with the same seats.
๐ค Playing vs Computer
Pick a difficulty when starting a game against AI. Easy plays fairly randomly. Medium and Hard try to win tricks efficiently, protect Dehlas, feed tricks to a winning partner, and avoid needlessly discarding 10s.
๐ฅ Multiplayer Rooms
Create a room to get a short room code, share it with friends, and fill any empty seats with AI if you're short a player. The table updates live for everyone in the room.
